With a career that spans four decades, Jack Glass is one of the region’s most well-known, respected and revered guides. Over thousands of trips he’s honed his skills on a number of popular fisheries. We’re fortunate to have him tackle “Second Season Springers”, the late season springer fishery that’s been developing on the lower Willamette and has exploded in popularity. As far as we know this is the first and inaugural seminar for this particular fishery that starts in late May and continues into July with amazingly consistent catching for one of North America’s most prized salmon…spring chinook. This is definitely a “don’t miss” session.

Bill’s been working on a very special project with Yakima Bait and he’ll be discussing it and showing how to do it and use it in both the Blue Theater. Landlocked sockeye salmon aka “kokanee” have become a popular target of NW anglers. They’re a plentiful, great eating fish that can be caught most of the year. Two close-by lakes, Yale and Merwin, deliver excellent kokanee fishing with some honest-to-goodness whoppers showing every year. And like most fisheries, the more you know the better your results. We’re fortunate to have landed longtime S.W. Washington guide (now gainfully retired), Brent Soule, to rundown the how, what and where of kokanee fishing in these lakes. Del’s been venturing offshore, at times WAY offshore for decades in search of prized, hard-fighting albacore tuna, which he’s developed quite a reputation for catching. His book, “The Dark Side, One Man’s Journey to the 125 Foot Line and Back”, is considered required reading for anyone getting serious about chasing Pacific albacore. And his tuna exploits go well beyond the NW. He’s fished them all over the world and caught most every species of tuna available.
